Simply an anesthesiologist is a physician who administers anesthetics during surgery or other medical procedures. They play an important part before, during and even after the surgery and are regarded as an important part of the surgery team. The need for anesthesiologist is ever increasing with the advancement in medical science and medical procedure as well as to cure the people of their illness and conditions. The need for efficient and responsible anesthesiologist is felt not only by patients but even by surgeons who handle the critical surgical cases. This has increased the demand for anesthesiologist education in Cleveland Oh and in other parts of the country.

They also help patient through surgery in addition to above mentioned responsibilities. Anesthesiologist may also help treat patients with conditions causing chronic pain. Their duty can last for several hours in some special cases, during which the anesthesiologist must continue to monitor and provide support for the patient. In extreme cases they can work over 80 hours per week.

In order to become an anesthesiologist certain formal education and training requirements need to be fulfilled. Anesthesiologist has one of the most demanding requirement than any occupation which includes four year of undergraduate school, four year of medical school and finally three to eight year of internship and residency, depending on specialty selected.

Additionally, an accredited program in anesthesiology needs to be completed. Students work on obtaining certification during their residency from the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Society of Anesthesiologist. You can become a credential and licensed anesthesiologist by fulfilling the required amount of training and/or degree from the accredited school of medicine or osteopathy, successful completion of an accredited program in anesthesiology, passing the national exam and lastly applying for license in the state where one is going to practice in.

Anesthesiologist is one of the highest paid physicians. The geographic area, expertise and sub specialty decides the range of anesthesiologist's salary. The starting salary of the beginner anesthesiologist is about $225,000 per year while most earn at least $300,564 per year.
