Keep A Cold Or The Flu Away With The Following Suggestions

By Ricky Hindricks

Feel better after getting sick by doing some of the following things. Of course, the goal is to keep from getting sick in the first place. Your body gets compromised by germs, making you sick, but there are many preventative measures to keep it from taking place. During the flu and cold season, it is important to do many of the preventative measures, that can keep colds and flu from being spread, since they have no cure. Here are some things that you can do to prevent the common cold or a flu from getting the better of you.

After you finish using it, throw away your Kleenex or tissue immediately. A common cold continues to be transmitted because tissue paper is not disposed of. Someone uses a tissue, puts it down on a table or countertop, someone else throws away the tissue and someone else touches a book that was on the same table. This is how germs can be spread around to various people, quite easily. You need to have a liner in your trash can, where you can, immediately after you use your tissues, throw them away. It is really important to get rid of your tissues quickly, and walking them out to the garbage is even better. You may not have any symptoms, or look like you are sick, but spreading germs is still possible.

Exercising every day will help. When the weather turns and colds and flu start to become more common it's tempting to stay inside and insulate yourself from the world. This does not mean, however, that you should spend that time bundled up on your couch. You can still be active while you stay indoors-even if you don't have a gym membership. If you are taken down by colds and infections, it could be because your body wasn't strong enough, and not being active physically could have contributed to that. At least fifteen minutes of exercise is something you need to plan for each day.

There is a good chance you will get sick, if you are around too many people who are sick, so stay away from them, even if that seems cruel. It is important to you and your family to remain as healthy as you can, so there is nothing wrong with staying away from those who are at risk for passing on the flu or a cold.

There are many things you can do to ease your suffering, once you get sick, and get it over more quickly, also. Going through anything takes an effort, so why not make the effort to prevent it from ever happening. This is especially important when it comes to colds and the flu-which cannot be cured and must simply be suffered through. Prevention is the best way to stay healthy.
